Arriving just before 1:00 p. m., the last hour of the drive north to Delaware twisted and turned through farmland as GPS navigated us around traffic and road closures. Site B23 at Cape Henlopen State Park, supposedly 40 ft long barely had room for our rig, but we fit her in it.

We had a half hour before we mounted our bikes and met Laura and Mike at the Lewes public boat landing for a ride down the canal, past Rehoboth to Dewey Beach where we enjoyed a late lunch, early dinner, linner, at The Rusty Rudder.

Arriving back at Lewes just before 7:00, we road our bikes home, beating the setting sun. Cuddling with our pups, we watched Wednesday and The Paper before turning in for the night.
Ron slept in on my birthday while I took care of the pups and did a load of laundry, not precisely how I thought the day would start. After putting the clothes in the dryer, I took Ruby for a walk to cool off and readjust my attitude. Still working on that as I write, choosing to let Ron suffer a little longer, Lord, forgive me.

Laura and Mike arrived at around 10:30 on their bikes, ready to roll. Laura handed me a Tupperware container full of pumpkin spice muffins with delicious cream cheese icing for my birthday. The cupcakes had toppled during the ride, letting me do my favorite thing, scrape icing on my finger and lick it.
After putting the delicious cakes in the fridge and tucking the dogs safely in the air-conditioned camper with plenty of water, we headed out for a day of biking. Our first stop, the Junction Bakery and Bistro, followed by Old World Breads Bakery and Seagreen Bicycles, before turning our tires towards Rehoboth Beach.
Riding the Junction and Breakwater Trail, we made our way to Rehoboth. I used my new mirror, which the young man at Seagreen installed for me. According to my biking app, we had ridden 9.1 miles before we started the trail to the beach.
Once at Rehoboth, Ron, Laura, and I walked the boardwalk while Mike rested his knee. Carolanne and Easton met us at Tiki Jac’s Street Eats and Brews for linner.
While Carolanne and Easton went to the kite store, we rode back to the campground to care for the pups before going to King’s for homemade ice cream. Strolling around Lewes with our cones, Laura showed us where she lived when she first moved to the area.
Tired after an energetic day riding over 25 miles, we all headed home for an early night and a good night’s sleep.

We attended church with our Narrow Way Church family on Sunday, then hooked up the Atlas and began the four hour drive home.

Until next time, Delaware:-)!
